Open Enrollment Period Begins! Enroll your family in health coverage today
Open Enrollment for affordable health coverage through the Affordable Care Act began yesterday, November 1. From now until December 15, you will be able to renew or enroll in health insurance for 2018 if you do not already have coverage through your job, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, or another type of health coverage. The majority of states are on the federal exchange and use HealthCare.gov, which means individuals must sign up by December to obtain health care coverage under their State Based Marketplace.
The Trump Administration is doing everything they can to undermine our access to affordable health coverage and the ACA Marketplaces instead of strengthening them. In an attempt to sabotage our health care, the Trump Administration has shortened the open enrollment period, reduced funding for outreach and enrollment, and stopped funding Cost Sharing Reductions. Regardless, we persist.
- The tax credit available through HealthCare.gov reduces most people’s premium cost to a total of $50 to $100 per month.
- Coverage could be more affordable than you think. More than eight out of 10 people who enroll through HealthCare.gov qualify for financial help to make quality coverage more affordable.
