Nary Rath

Nary is SEARAC’s California Program Manager. She leads SEARAC’s state-level programming through event planning, campaigns, trainings, coalition management, and support with community engagement and organizing. She fosters strong relationships with California partners, including through coalitions and partnerships on immigrant and refugee rights, health and mental health, education, and racial justice and solidarity. Additionally, she leads planning and execution of advocacy events, and administration and reporting for multi-year mental health advocacy grants.

Prior to this role, she served as SEARAC’s Program Manager and Immigration Policy Advocate. Nary holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Connecticut State University. She served as a Legislative Fellow for the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies within the office of Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV), handling the human trafficking portfolio. She completed internships with Hartford City Council, the Connecticut Trafficking in Persons Council, and the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, cooking, and trying new restaurants.
