Ivy Ngo

Ivy Ngo is a Policy Advocate for the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC). At SEARAC, Ivy focuses on aging policies and issues such as Social Security and the Older Americans Act. She coordinates the Diverse Elders Coalition (DEC), an initiative supported through Atlantic Philanthropies to improve the lives of vulnerable elders. Before becoming Policy Advocate, Ivy was a summer intern for SEARAC, and she worked on immigration and deportation issues.

Ivy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Economy, a Bachelor of Arts with honors in History, and a minor in Southeast Asian studies. At Berkeley, Ivy actively worked on high school outreach and political awareness with REACH!, U.C. Berkeley’s Asian/Pacific Islander Recruitment and Retention Center. Ivy is a second-generation Vietnamese-American. Her parents were boat people and met at a refugee camp in Malaysia before being resettled in the United States in 1980. She was born and raised in Milpitas, California.
