Twenty Most Commonly Unfunded Program Areas in Surveyed Organizations

Most programs offered by Southeast Asian American organizations were not supported by dedicated funding. This chart reveals the twenty program areas most often reported as not recieving funding by surveyed organizations. Particularly striking is the fact that 106 of 133 (or 80 percent) of "youth" programs reported not to be recieving funding. In addition, 89 of the 115 (or 77 percent) of the organizations offering "elderly services" programs reported not having funding for them. Eighty-five of the 139 (or 61 percent) of the organizations reporting programs in "interpretation/translation services" also reported not having funding specifically for that purpose.

All of the programs that are provided by Southeast Asian American oorganizations on a volunteer basis require the special attention of funders, particularly since they indicate strong community needs, commitment, and service capacity.
