October 2003
Dear Friends of SEARAC:
Please find enclosed a letter from KaYing Yang, Executive Director of SEARAC, announcing her resignation. KaYing has done an outstanding job, leading SEARAC through a transition from an organization respected for its work on behalf of refugees from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, to its present position as a nationally-known advocacy group for Southeast Asian Americans. In addition, through hard work she has achieved a stable
funding base - a great accomplishment in these difficult times.
We will miss her leadership and her energy, but as she states, she is
committed to remaining a part of SEARAC.
Also enclosed is a position announcement. The SEARAC Board will move forward, build on KaYing's legacy, and continue to fulfill our mission. If you know of qualified candidates for our Executive Director position, please encourage them to apply.
On behalf of SEARAC's Board of Directors, your assistance is highly valued
and we are grateful for your continued support to our agency.
Sincerely,
Philip Tuong Duy Nguyen
Chair, Board of Directors
