Position Summary: AmeriCorps VISTA Member
SEARAC is currently seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Member
Position Summary: SEARAC’s AmeriCorps VISTA member will focus on two key objectives: 1) to improve health outcomes through raising awareness of health issues and the availability of health care services, and expanding the number of people with health insurance coverage; and 2) to build SEARAC’s capacity to continue anti-poverty programming.
Location of Position: SEARAC’s Sacramento, CA office
Major Responsibilities:
- Work with SEARAC’s community-based organization partners to improve the health outcomes of Southeast Asian Americans in California
- Create health-related educational materials
- Plan events to educate community members, enroll community members in health benefits programs, and host listening sessions on the culture of volunteerism in the Southeast Asian American community
- Research foundations and grant opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience working with Southeast Asian American communities
- Undergraduate degree
